President U Thein Sein attends 19th ASEAN Summit plenary session
 

NAY PYI TAW, 20 Nov-President U Thein Sein of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar attended the 19th ASEAN Summit plenary session at Nusa Dua 4 Hall in Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre (BNDCC) in Bali of the Republic of Indonesia on 17 November morning.

It was also attended by King of Brunei Darussalam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen, Indonesian President Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Prime Minister of Lao PDR Mr Thongsing Thammavong, Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, Singaporean Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong, Thai Prime Minister Ms Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Socialist Republic of Vietnam Mr Nguyen Tan Dung, the Special Representative of the Philippines President, ASEAN Secretary-General Dr Surin Pitsuwan and high-ranking officials from ASEAN nations.

ASEAN Alternate Chairman Indonesian President Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono extended greetings. Heads of State/Government of ASEAN nations frankly discussed matters related to ASEAN Community and had luncheon together. They then continued the meeting at 3.30 pm.

At the ASEAN Plenary Summit, heads of State/Government of ASEAN members discussed matters related to three ASEAN Community Councils, ASEAN Integrity, ASEAN Charter, ASEAN External Relations and East Asia Summit.
