Myanmar, Indonesia hold joint commission meeting
 
YANGON, 28 Dec - At the invitation of U Wunna Maung Lwin, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Indonesian delegation led by Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr RM Marty M Natalegawa arrived in Yangon this morning to attend the 2nd Meeting of the Myanmar-Indonesian Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation. The Indonesian delegation was welcomed at the airport by Director-General U Hau Do Suan of Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and officials.

The meeting was held at Sedona Hotel, here, today, attended by co-chairman of the joint commission Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Wunna Maung Lwin and party, cochairman of the joint commission Indonesian Minister Dr RM Marty M Natalegawa and party. Both sides discussed matters relating to further strengthening of the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries as well as enhancing mutual cooperation in regional and international forums.

It was also attended by officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry and Ministry of Commerce.

The Union Minister for Foreign Affairs hosted a luncheon to the participants of the meeting. Yesterday afternoon, the 2nd Meeting of the Myanmar-Indonesia Joint Commission came to a successful conclusion with the adoption of the agreed minutes of the meeting. The 2nd meeting was preceded by the Senior Officials Meeting to discuss the draft agreed minutes for the Ministerial Meeting of the Joint Commission.

The Indonesian delegation left here by air this afternoon.
