Over 92 percent in remaining Tps cast "Yes" vote

NAY PYI TAW, 26 May- The Commission for Holding the Referendum of the Union of Myanmar today issued Announcement No. 11/2008 dated 26 May, 2008.
The full text of the announcement is as follows:

Announcement on results of the referendum held in 47 townships in Yangon and Ayeyawady Divisions
1. The referendum for approval of the draft constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was held successfully in 278 townships out of 325 townships in the whole country on 10 May, 2008 and the commission announced the results of the referendum with the Announcement No. 10/2008 dated 15 May, 2008.
2. In accord with the Announcement No. 8/2008 dated 6 May, 2008, the referendum was held on 24 May, 2008 in 40 townships in Yangon Division and seven townships in Ayeyawady Division that were hit hard by Cyclone "Nargis". The following is the results of the referendum:
  (a) Number of eligible voters 4,580,393
  (b) Number of those who cast vote 4,280,015 (93.44 percent)
  (c) Number of those who cast "Yes" vote 3,977,528 (92.93 percent)
  (d) Number of those who cast "No" vote 256,232 ( 5.99 percent)
  (e) Number of cancelled vote 46,255 ( 1.08 percent)
3. The commission hereby announces that 3,977,528 of 4,280,015 voters cast "Yes" vote, accounting for 92.93 percent in the referendum held in 47 townships in Yangon and Ayeyawady Divisions.
