NAY PYI TAW, 9 July - Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Maung Myint arrived back by air yesterday after paying a goodwill visit to the Republic of Sudan at the invitation of the Sudanese State Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Ali Ahmed Kertil. Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister U Maung Myint met with Sudanese State Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Ali Ahmed Kertil on 6 July morning and they held discussions on further promotion of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. In the afternoon, Myanmar delegation called on Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sudan Mr. Deng Alor Kuol (SPLM) at his office. Next, Deputy Minister U Maung Myint also called on Sudanese State Minister for Foreign Trade Mr. Elsimaih Elsiddig Alnur at his office and they discussed matters on enhancement of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and exchanged views. On 7 July, the Deputy Minister met with Secretary General Dr. Omer Mohamed Kheir of Sudanese Petroleum Corporation of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining and discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation in energy sector. Next, the Deputy Minister met with Secretary General
Mr. Bakri Yousif Omer of Sudanese Business and Employers Association and
the former made clarifications on trade opportunities and then they exchanged
